Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard nowadays what with the Internet at your disposal. It is much easier now compared to the days when you had to make use of the telephone and relied on conventional post and advertising in magazines and newspapers to get your message out to the masses. Not only was it slower, but also much harder to track your results. So let us take a trip through several days in the life of the modern Affiliate Marketer working from home.
Upon waking up and whilst having breakfast the computer / tablet or smart phone is turned on, and checked for emails and payments notifications received.
After replying to new affiliate requests and customer support issues. A little time is put aside to browse the internet to look out for new products or developments in their niche, and how this may affect their online adverts.
Take a break to complete the school run. Talk to other parents and take the opportunity to possibly market a product which will solve an itchy foot problem you overheard being discussed.
In the process of placing and updating all of this our marketer is logged in to a chat room where they interact with other affiliates promoting the same program. This is a useful resource which can be used to discuss how to best promote their products. There are always things to learn and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips, tricks and advice is a good way of showing support to your affiliates. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. Our Marketer now visits their favourite marketing forums and adds their signature file to the piece of helpful advice they have just provided to a fellow marketer. That’s enough for today. It’s time for dinner and a catch-up with the family.
Revised site design completed.
It is now time to submit the revised affiliate program to directory sites which list affiliate programs. These directories are a means to attract people to join your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program!
After lunch, our marketer takes the time to sort out their ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to use in their promotions. Our marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales.
After getting home:
They decide to look up the latest tracking stats and decide that some of their adverts need a little tweaking. The statistics are also telling them that the website design could do with some tweaks. They decide on revising the site design and pass it their designer to implement. Our Affiliate Marketer knows that a well-designed site can not only increase sign ups from visitors but it can also help in their affiliate’s conversion rates. Our marketer spends the rest of the day updating his Social Networks and promoting his website to his followers
Next day, after a busy morning on household chores our marketer decides to write a group of promotional emails, to go alongside the Newsletter which was updated earlier in the week. After opening a browser and loading up and logging in to their Autoresponder service, they upload their newly written emails, Newsletters and E-zines, set-up a delivery schedule and then log out. After picking up the kids and watching some television, it is time go to bed and relax.
As you can see from the example above none of the jobs were completed on day 1 of our marketer’s week. Like most people they were juggling family commitments a part time job and a stressful life, however, this example gives a small insight into the successful affiliate marketing mindset.
